In India they are called cheela, chilada or dosa.

 

These crepes are made with every grain and pulse that can be soaked, ground to a batter and spread on a pan. There are several variations can be made, Moong dal chilada is one of them. Serves: 5 pax

 

Ingredients

 

  • 1 katori yellow moong daal
  • 1/2 katori rice (for healthy chilada do not add rice)

 

For garnish on batter

 

  • Cilantro/ Kothmir
  • Green Chillies 
  • Ginger 
  • Red chilli powder 
  • Salt and Fling

 

For garnish over the chilada

 

  • Choice of Paneer/Capsicum or Onions

 

Procedure

 

  • Soak moong daal and rice together after washing thoroughly for not more than 2 hrs
  • Drain the water out completely.
  • Grind it using a mixie to make a smoothe paste adding few drops of water from time to time. 
  • Once the batter is ready add kothmir, green chilies, ginger, red chilli powder, salt and hing and mix thoroughly. 
  • The batter is now ready for use. 
  • The chilada can also be garnished with paneer, capsicum or onions.
  • Serve hot with green chutney and tomato sauce.
